Essential Functions:
1. Prepares food according to a plann ed menu and uniform recipes, and determines if the finished product is of best quality both in flavor and appearance before it is served.
2. Assists in the preparation and serving of food to patrons in a quick and pleasant manner and prepares cafeteria counters.
3. Operates equipment as needed.
4. Performs related duties as required including duties at special meal functions.
5. Assists in the processing of food being delivered, inventory control, and cashiering.
6. Reports to the cafeteria manager any faulty or inferior qualit y food which is received.
7. Assists in the daily clean up of the kitchen and service areas.
8. Supervises culinary arts student helpers in daily lunch preparation and daily closing and cleaning operations.
9 . Maintains the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.
10. Reports immediately to the cafeteria manager any problem or accident occurring in the kitchen or the cafeteria premises.
11. Confers with the cafeteria manager re garding any personnel problems.
12. Maintains professional competence through in-serv ice education activities provided by the Department of Education, the District and/or, with prior approval, in self selected professional growth activities.
13 . Performs other related duties as required.
