Special Education Teacher w/ELA Content preferred

 

Start Date: August 31, 2026

 

Schedule: In accordance with the DTA contract

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:  Under the direction of the Principal, the special education teacher plans and provides appropriate specially designed instruction to enable positive learning experiences for students with disabilities in a variety of educational settings.  The person in this position is responsible for creating a program and learning environment that provides specialized instruction for students with disabilities, such that the students benefit from the general education curriculum to the greatest extent possible with supplemental aids, accommodations, and other needed support.

 

Requirements:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, Masters in Special Eductaion Preferred
• Massachusetts Department of Secondary and Elementary License in Special Needs (5-12)
• The ability to provide positive behavioral support to students in a group and in an individual setting
• Demonstrates an understanding of the federal, state, and local mandates governing the determination and delivery of special education services.
• Completes observations and reports pertaining to learning behaviors of students
• Displays the ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, and school-based staff, students, parents, and community members
• Possess excellent human relations skills and working knowledge of the English language in written and verbal form.
